A little bit of here, there, and everywhere after today...

Following on yesterday's post, Justin Hoyte and the England U21s played out a 0-0 draw against the Czech Republic in the Group B opener of the European Championships. Justin played the full 90, which will be remembered not for exciting football, but for a missed Leroy Lita penalty in the dying minutes.

Arsène Wenger dropped by Haugesund the other night to have a look-see at young centre-half Håvard Nordtveit. Word is the two parties could not agree a deal, but it is far from dead, and further developments should occur in the coming days or weeks. Thanks to Arseblog for the Norwegian news link.

Women's striker Julie Fleeting has endorsed the new Celtic women's team and all-girls academy, having spent eight years with Ayr United before moving south. Oddly, Celtic have taken over Arsenal North in order to play in the Scottish Women's Premier League next season. Arsenal North? News to us, too.

Finally, the douchebags down at Stamford Bridge have come poaching again, though this time it seems they've whisked youth coach Dermot Drummy away with their flickering eyelashes and fat wads of cash. He's still listed on Arsenal.com, though that should be updated by 2013 if true. Don't ask us why Arsenal have him listed as Paul Akers in the title and URL, either. We're not going to cry over this one, since we can probably do better than a former manager of Ware Town. And he's no Bouldy...
